CASA [kah-sah] n. – a common person with an uncommon role; a child’s advocate in court; a committed volunteer, making a difference for a child in foster care. You must be at least 21 years of age, pass a background check, participate in a 35-hour pre-service training, and agree to stay with a case for a minimum of 18 months. HandsOn Sacramento hosts an online platform that connects volunteers with hundreds of opportunities across the Sacramento region. Non-profit organizations use our website to post events and ongoing roles—from helping at a food bank to assisting with a community festival. Volunteers can create an account to find and join opportunities that fit their interests and schedule.
